So, I decided to tap into my already miniature bank account to receive a monthly Birchbox. I actually recommend this shit for anyone who doesn't recognize good hair, makeup or skin products like me. Like when I tell you I slab on some cover up, mascara and bronzer and call it a day, that's the truth. For $15 a month you can get 5-6 samples of the best products. Some I've fucking hated but some I actually have already purchased a second time. So, if you're somewhat clueless like me about this beauty shit, keep reading! I'm going to link some of my favorite products for ya honeys (: (just click on the pic to be taken to the website)
#1.) Wander - Mile High Club mascara
My new favorite. Definitely a bit pricey on Birchbox. Sometimes you can go on Poshmark and find the same mascara for a cheaper price (just make sure you buy 'New With Tags') I like this mascara because it's not clumpy & wet. It gives your lashes a natural look!
#2.) Beauty Protector - Detangle
This shit smells unreal and gets the job done. My hair tangles like crazy when I twist it up with a towel after the shower and this helps get the knots out.
#3.) Amika - moisture & shine cream
This is the perfect cream to put in your hair after the shower to create waves. It's ridiculously priced at $25 so again, I recommend Poshmark. I actually bought the same product at $9 and it came in the box. It lasts for a while as you only need a little to get what you're looking for.
#4.) Wander - Cheek & Lip Tint
I just received this in my Birchbox & love it. Anytime I use a powder blush, my cheeks so freaking rosy, I like like a creepy baby doll. With this, you can take your finger and rub the pink on your cheek bone and dab it with a makeup sponge. I have yet to put it on my lips but I think the light pink would be pretty during the summer. On Birchbox, this product is freaking $22 but I linked the website where this is $7.
#5.) Tea Tree Shampoo
I swear this shampoo has saved my life. I was blessed with the god damn thinnest hair on the planet, so of course it becomes greasy within hours of showering. This shampoo keeps my hair looking so full. It smells like mint and you can find it at CVS or Walmart for $12.99!
#6.) Glossier - Lidstar
This is the perfect eyeshadow for a night out. I love the Lily because it's a light purple color. Sometimes I'll even line my top lid with this because the applicator is small enough to make a small line. It's sparkly and a perfect summer color. If you're in Boston during the summer months, Glossier usually sets up a pop-up makeup shop in the Seaport to test what products you like best.
#7.) Buxom - Plumping Gloss
This is the best lip gloss I've ever tried. Yes... I still wear fucking lip gloss like I'm in the middle school and I see absolutely no problem with it. The color in the picture to the left 'Dominique' is my shit because it's not colored and I keep it in my purse when I go out to put it on throughout the night.
#8.) Perfect Shine - oil mist
So I use this spray right after I blowdry my hair, before I use my straightener. During this quarantine, I haven't touched my hair once but this spray is honestly awesome. It smells like absolute heaven and I feel like I'm not burning the shit out of my hair and breaking it anymore.
#9.) Tarte - waterproof bronzer
I literally have gone through hundreds of bronzers and they ALWAYS come out orange as hell. I look like a scary clown. This is the first bronzer that has really worked. I recommend a pretty sturdy brush and not a fluffy one (if that makes any sense). I get the color 'hotel heiress' because it's a little darker. One thing I've learned with bronzer...make sure to apply it to your eye lids (top & bottom) and your neck so it looks natural.
#10.) Rodan & Fields - Tanning foam
This shit is GOLD!! Easily the best self tanner I have ever used....and I have tried everything. I've bought the cream & glove before, the wipes, the drops that you put in your moisturizer. This is the only thing that works for me. It comes out as a clear foam and as long as you hit every spot you want, it really doesn't streak. You also don't come out looking like an orange person (aka me before every pinning at Bentley). This shit is expensive ($27) but I just bought a brand new bottle on Poshmark for $12. It lasts super long too. During the colder months, I only apply self tanner to my neck and face because I normally wear sweaters or turtlenecks.
#11.) Face Masks
So they look like cheap masks but they have helped my skin clear up completely & feel fresh after a hot shower. I found them on Amazon & it's only $10 for 12 masks. My favorite is the tea tree and aloe vera. I definitely recommend!
Now you gals are about to look like even bigger supermodels than you already do! I'll add to this list as I try more products!
